Kit list for Bushcraft Weekend Course
- Water-proof jacket and trousers, fleece/jumpers, hat, gloves, scarf, a thermal baselayer can be useful year round
- Long trousers and sleeves - recommended to protect you from brambles and midge and tick bites (recommended)
- (In Scotland, May - Sept) - Insect repellent (non-deet) and midge headnet (strongly recommended)
- Cup
- Any medication you may need
- Hand sanitiser
- Toilet paper and any needed sanitary product + ziplock bag
- Firesteel (optional)
- Sheath knife (optional)
- Food for snacks and main meals
- Mess tin/s or pot for cooking + scourers
- Cutlery
- camping stove (optional)
- Tent, or hammock and tarp
- Roll mat
- Sleeping bag with appropriate grade for the season i.e. at least 3 or 4 season
- Torch (preferably head torch) with spare batteries.
- Breathable bivvy bag or cheap plastic tarp and cordage (recommended if you choose to stay in a shelter)
- Wellies are strongly recommended or alternatively water-proof walking boots
